Future Jobs Fund
In July 2009, it was announced that Hartlepool Borough Council?s bid to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Future Jobs Fund had been successful. Plans to create an additional 720 jobs within Hartlepool could commence between October 2009 and March 2011.
Hartlepool Borough Council?s Economic Development is the accountable body for the project and will work in partnership with public, private and third sector organisations to create jobs within identified growth sectors including Hospitality and Toursism, Renewable Energy, Health and Social Care and Green Jobs.
Economic Develoment is working with a variety of partners and local employers and to date has managed to create the following exciting employment opportunities;
? Environmental Operatives
? Community Outreach Workers
? Administration / Clerical Assistants
? Recycling Operatives
? Youth Workers
? IAG Workers
? Construction operatives
? Production Operatives
These jobs will offer 18 ? 24 year olds who are long term unemployed and adults who are long term unemployed from our disadvantaged wards.
Opportunities created will place individuals into employment, with no cost implication to the employer, for a minimum of 6 month at 25 - 37 hours per week. Each individual will participate in short training courses and work towards a nationally recognised qualification.
