19/10/2007 - Encouraging Women into Enterprise

Encouraging Women into Enterprise is a regional project which is aimed at developing Self Employment and Enterprise potential and is delivered in the 4 sub regions of the North East.

This programme is delivered is via 2 hour taster sessions (in Community Venues) and for those with a further interest a five week programme (again in Community Venues) which aims to explore and develop ideas and if necessary provide the first steps to starting up a business. This programme will be delivered one day per week and at times suitable for the Women (to fit around child-care, schools etc).

The project is looking for groups of learners that may be interested in attending taster sessions which can be delivered in suitable venues (maybe your premises). The project can provide funding for room hire, transport and lunch. However there is no funding to provide creche facilities for the taster sessions.

South Bank Women's Centre held a couple of events last year which were very successful and if you want to talk to someone who has hosted an event I have been reliably informed you can contact them

If you would like to discuss this please feel free to contact Genevene on 0191 2131230 or Nynzi on 0191 2653114.
