Overview of Tees Valley Works projects
The aim of the Skills for jobs is to tackle worklessness by reducing the number of individuals not in employment. Skills for jobs aims to offer workless individuals a tailored package of support that recognises the needs and aspirations of beneficiaries. This will be delivered by the engagement of individuals and providing tailored packages of coaching, ongoing support, learning and the achievement of qualifications. The project will enable beneficiaries to secure and sustain employment and to continue to learn and receive ongoing support once they have entered employment

Hartlepool Borough Council was successful in gaining funding for this project via the Learning and Skills Council’s ESF tendering round in November 2007. The project which is a partnership between Children’s Services, Economic Development Department and the Connexions Service will be managed by Tees Valley Works who will lead on all contractual matters relating to project delivery.
