Barnardo’s B76 project offers a range of support and advice services in Hartlepool for young people aged between 13 and 21 years old.
Barnardo’s B76 offers the following support:
• Housing advice
• Pregnancy testing
• Condoms
• Benefit advice
• Drug & alcohol advice
• Sexual health advice
• Employment/training advice
• Information, Advice and Guidance
• Pastoral support
• Life skills groups
The project will also work with young people aged 14 – 18 who are NEET or otherwise at risk of exclusion.
This includes young people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, young offenders and those from the BME group in Hartlepool or other disadvantaged backgrounds.
This could include working with young people to deliver life skills programmes using the camera, drama, role play, video, discussion and IT, to address issues facing young people today. The project provides learning, increased confidence, achievements and assists young people to make informed choices.
There are also regular support sessions on substance use, healthy eating, relationships (including domestic violence), employment opportunities, benefit entitlement and sexual health.
Appropriate qualifications will be delivered linked to the activities examples are:
