Hartlepool Working Solutions (HWS) is part of Hartlepool Borough Council’s Economic Development Department and provides dedicated recruitment, training and advice services to local businesses and residents.
HWS provides a range of services that are designed to meet the needs of local employers and also provide opportunities for local unemployed residents. This includes a free recruitment service for employers and residents, tailored training courses, as well as financial assistance and specialised human resource advice and guidance.
HWS aims to help local residents back into work through a variety of initiatives including the Going Forward project. The provision offered will be bespoke to individual’s aspirations and there may be opportunities for employment on a fixed term contract with the Local Authority.
HWS will provide regular Information, Advice and Guidance with pre-employment training and subsidised employment/placement. During the young persons journey there will be dedicated mentoring support.
Qualifications will be accessible for young people that are suitable for their interests and are relevant to the young persons sector of interest. Below is a selection of qualifications that are available:

• First Aid at work
• Manual Handling
• CSCS Card (subject to eligibility)
• Food Hygiene
