Hart Training is situated on a 320 acre working farm in the centre of Hart village on the outskirts of Hartlepool. Flexible training in academic and vocational areas is available.
The renovated farm buildings consist of offices, workshops, classrooms, recreation room, kitchen and dining room. Within the training area, the outdoor and indoor arena (stables, small animals and farm animals) will be fully utilised. All of the vocational areas projects are organised around the farm. This gives young people the opportunity to use the skills that they are learning within their chosen career path.
All young people will have a designated mentor who will review progress, targets, attendance and career paths with the young person.
The following vocational areas are offered:
• Construction (bricklaying, joinery)
• Horticulture
• Vehicle maintenance
• Animal care
• Horse care
All young people will work towards a vocational qualification at the appropriate level and will undertake an ASDAN Certificate in Career Planning at Level 1.
