West View Project (WVP) supports young people to achieve positive outcomes through both informal outreach contact and structured courses. These courses can include elements of outdoor activity and are focussed on individual need.

Programmes will be offered that are distinctively different from each other for both 14 -16 and 16 -19 year old client groups.

For young people in the 14 -16 group a structured course will be offered that can be planned with the school that referred the young person to explore their potential while working towards recognised qualifications. These courses will allow young people to address the issues they are facing and gain support and advice. The courses will be flexible in length and WVP usually work with groups of young people for 1 day per week over a school term or a full school year.

For young people aged 16 -18 personalised programmes of formal and informal learning will be offered. This approach will utilise outreach workers who will be the initial point of contact for the young person and form small groups to work towards goals suitable for them. These activities will be activity based or social courses building on life skills and positive behaviours, WVP will also help young people prepare for work and find appropriate employment or training.

Qualifications Offered:
• ASDAN Wider Key Skills
• Sports Leader Awards
• Outdoor Activity Skills and Coaching Awards
• RYA Level 1 & 2 Powerboat Courses
